Hi, I am Tracey,
Fentons HomeCare is me! I am self-employed, fully trained, experienced, qualified and insured, I also prefer to describe myself a 'Care Companion' rather than a carer.
I am incredibly proud of the journey I have undertaken since launching Fenton’s HomeCare in March 2021. Whilst employed for a number of years within a nationally renowned organisation that provides supported living for vulnerable adults, I met a wonderful lady who made me aware of the amount of people across Thirsk, and the surrounding areas of North Yorkshire who were in desperate need of some home care/support/companionship and could not afford the rates quoted by larger home help organisations and/or agencies, or they desired a more personal relationship rather than a different carer arriving each day.
This inspired me to reach out and offer some much-needed support to these wonderful people which in-turn helped me to truly understand the challenges they faced. I very quickly came to the opinion that if just one person could not find affordable 1 to 1 care in our local area, then it was one person too many and Fenton’s HomeCare was born.
Working alone ensures continuity (it will be me that arrives each day rather than multiple carers on different days), It significantly reduces the overheads that larger providers/agencies have, (so I can keep my costs more affordable) and more importantly, it enables me to provide a more personal and almost friendship-based home care service (which is the reason I prefer to be discrete and not wear a uniform). In addition, I strive each day to make someone's life a little easier and provide a service that is structured to individuals needs and desires. I absolutely treasure the relationships I have built with each person I support, and this helps me to provide support founded on mutual trust, cemented with dignity and compassion and over time.... friendship.
